Our History

Little Footprints Learning Center was established in July 2002 at our location in Haverhill, MA.

In 2002, the school was licensed for 20 preschool and pre-k students, and the children shared one large 900 square foot classroom.
With the growing demand for quality infant and toddler programs, in 2004 we expanded to an additional space within the same building, adding new classrooms for infants and toddlers. Over the next few years, we continued to expand and occupy various spaces within the building. Our current space we now occupy was really the “sweet” spot for us, allowing classrooms to be centrally located to each other, along with allowing us to have a large, easily accessible outdoor play space for all age groups.  We continue to serve children ages infant through pre-k, and we are currently licensed for 45 students at our Haverhill location.

After seeing that there was a  growing demand for quality child care, I decided to expand and open a second location. Our Atkinson, NH location opened in January 2025. This location was selected because, being the town I reside in, I saw the lack of child care and the huge need and desire for it in this town. The Atkinson  location is currently licensed for 28 children, however, in keeping with the lower Massachusetts ratios, we stay below our maximum licensed numbers.

My name is Jen Levy and I am the founder, owner, and director of Little Footprints Learning Center. I  have worked in the Early Childhood field for over 30 years, working locally in Haverhill schools, where I was born and raised.  I attended Northern Essex Community College and have my MA EEC Director II certification. I currently reside in Atkinson, NH.

I have always enjoyed the wonderment of children and strive to provide a warm, loving "home away from home" where the children are free to laugh, be themselves, and feel valued. I also feel that it is important to "let kids be kids" and I believe that the outdoors are a big part of the learning and exploration that children need, to make this happen. I have created a program of learning through play because through much research, I have come to understand that it provides the most developmentally appropriate approach to create passion and interest in children, to make them life-long learners.

Little Footprints Learning Center is licensed by Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
